a prayer is a plea. It is an act of mourning, an expression of rage, a vulnerable appeal for change. a prayer is an experimental animation that explores how white supremacy, state violence, and civil unrest seep into our shared consciousness and our homes. The cyclical nature of police brutality and the murders of Black and Brown folks have created a collective dejavu in our communities. We are too accustomed to this pattern. a prayer is a plea. A plea to face our nation’s deep history of white supremacy, dismantle law enforcement, and put an end to the prison industrial complex. a prayer is a plea for liberation.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Premiered Oct 9, 2020 at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Co. A conversation with Feliciano and her collaborators follows the screening.
